Travel Day
So the day has arrived. Somehow my countdown finally came down to zero. I felt like it was never going to happen and now that its here i am somewhere between extreme excitement and being terrified. To start off my day I suppose you could say I got less than adequate sleep last night thanks to my lovely friends. It was a great last night out with dessert and wine at Coho and then I really just wanted to go to sleep. Of course that did not happen and so I have been running on maybe 4 hours all day. Got to SeaTac with Ryan and Chelsea and said sad goodbyes :( that was not my favorite part of the day. I had a hard time making words come out to the nice lady at the check in counter. Note: no lines. Made my way to security, again no lines. Literally walked straight up to the TSA guy and straight through. Thank god I didn't get to the airport any earlier or else I would have had way too much time to sit and be sad and bored. Passed out on the plane for a short amount of time which I think is the only reason that I am honestly still awake right now and I still have at least another hour before my plane starts boarding.
Landed in LA early by about fifteen minutes and was super stoked that Alix had time today to drive from Santa Barbara to LAX to see me. We got lost in and around the airport and drove around trying to find somewhere to let the kids out of the car. We were not very successful on that front. Riley was definitely in a terrible twos kind of mood and nothing was going to keep him from being a grouchy pants. We ended up coming around again and just taking the kids into a deserted part of the airport for them to walk around and be half entertained. Even though it wasn't the most stress free hang out, it was really wonderful to get to see her before leaving and it broke up my nerves. Just a nice way to spend part of a very very long layover. I think we killed like three hours which out of 7 being by yourself it was worth it. Unfortunately in the chaos that is LAX Alix tried to drop me off at my airline terminal...I ended up in terminal 5 when I needed to be in 3 and in Arrivals instead of Departures...haha good try my love. Luckily I am pretty smart and asked someone and found my way. Again, once I found the right terminal, went to security and no lines. not a single person but me!
Now I am currently at my gate waiting. still waiting. Charging my phone at this nice little docking station and hoping time will go by faster. I got one beer at the only restaurant in the terminal after waiting 20 minutes for someone to walk by me and if you know me, surprise but I didn't finish it. Talked to all the family and am feeling much better nerves wise, or I am just too tired to care. I am not looking forward to this flight considering I haven't been feeling well and my throat is a bit sore. I am going to go take some more vitamins now and try to relax and possibly start reading. I haven't even gotten to open my kindle yet. Anyways, this is hopefully going to be the most boring of my future posts because not a lot has happened yet. I will write an update once I land Down Under :)
